Many people have written an eBook and they have marketed this either on their professional consulting website or at Lulu.com or a similar service. If you have written an eBook it might make sense to break down the book into chapters and perhaps each chapter could be made into three to five articles.

Then you can put these articles all online at an article online submission web site free of charge and put your name and business in the byline at the bottom with a link to your web site. Let’s say you wrote the book of 70 pages and it has 14 chapters. If each one of the chapters could be made into five articles then that would be 70 articles that you could have online driving traffic to your web site; nice.

With so much misery going on in the world, it’s nice to have a feel-good escape from it all. Television has always been a good diversion, but lately it seems the schedule has been inundated with gross-out procedural dramas that involve examining dead bodies… not exactly my idea of feel-good entertainment. One show that succeeds in the mission of creating a warm fuzzy is “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” A family facing hard times and receiving a glorious new house always tugs at the heartstrings and delivers with a happy ending. While this program provides great escapism, I find it very flawed and, at times, wonder if the producers think the viewing audience is made up of idiots.

While “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is considered to be a reality program, it could not more scripted. The show makes it look like these families are totally shocked by their selection for the makeover, but in actuality, the show’s producers notify about four families they are in the running and that the bus might be stopping by “unannounced.” Do these people not wait with bated breath, peeking out the window in hope of their dreams coming true? They act surprised when the always-annoying Ty Pennington greets them with the unnecessary bullhorn, but you just know they heard that loudmouth and his crew coming a mile away.

The overly-peppy design team would like us to think they are miracle workers, but I doth protest. Sure, they come up with some great ideas, but they surely don’t so on the spur of the moment. After the family is sent off on a week-long vacation, the producers of the show create a scenario with the design team putting their heads together for an idea on the house after taking one short look at the property. Uh, ya think these people actually have these ideas pop into their heads in mere minutes and not once argue over what to do? What about permits, zoning laws, architecture, and the hiring of the hundreds of people contracted to do the physical labor? This has got to take months of planning, but we are supposed to suspend all belief and go with the notion that Ty and company are working magic before our very eyes. They haven’t fooled me one bit.

As much as this show bugs me, I still watch it every week. Do I view every frame of it? Hell no. I check out the intro to see what plight has afflicted the selected family, then I fast forward (thanks TiVo) to the part when the family comes back to the amazing transformation. They cry; I cry; everyone seems right in the world again. Enjoy the wonderful moment, but don’t, for one second, fall for the illusion that is being shoved down our throats.

I make my workout part of my work schedule. Despite what the ads portray, we all know that working out is NOT fun. If you associate it with recreation or a fun activity, you will learn to hate it because working out is definitely NOT fun!

I get SO ANNOYED when I see commercials on TV with people working out and smiling and laughing, just having a grand ‘ol time. For God sake, they don’t even sweat!!! Man who u foolin’…WORKING OUT SUCKS!!

I HATE the thought of working out, but I aboslutely LOVE having worked out. And that my friends is the KEY.

The ends justifes the desire. I look at the results and that is what solely drives me to keep on doing it. Now it’s actually gotten to the point where I “like” doing certain exercises. However, I still can’t stand the “thought” of having to work-out.

Because I hate thinking about it, I’ve made it part of my work schedule so that I don’t think about doing it. It’s just a regularly scheduled work task that I must do, just like all other work tasks. I actually have it programmed into my Outlook to remind me EVERYDAY!

Now everyone has their own idea of what exercise, or exercise program, works best for them. Some people go for walks, others jog and others go to the gym. But I work out in the comfort of my living room and I suggest, as a work-at-home pro, you do the same.

When operating a home-based business, your time is everything. Working out from home saves you loads of time, by not having to pack-up and get out of the house, drive to a gym, wait your turn for apparatus, shower, change clothes, etc. It just makes sense for people who work-at-home.

The authors make it very clear that editing belongs not just in the publishing world, but also in the corporate world. Proper editing truly reflects one’s image, after all.

Methods that aid authors through each step along the way are detailed enough for the beginner, yet not too redundant for the experienced reader. Worksheets allow readers to develop personalized lessons throughout the book.

The appendixes located at the end of the book are extremely helpful. I found the appendix dealing with common grammar misjudgments quite useful. This appendix alone warrants keeping Write it Right as a permanent part of my writer’s resource bookshelf!

I tell you now the first e-book I ever wrote sat in my directory for a few months. I was scared out of my wits to actually put it out there incase the reaction was “bad”. I even considered saving up several thousands of dollars to get a professional to re-write what I wrote.

But of course I eventually plucked up the courage and thought bugger it, I’m going to put it out there and if the response is bad then I’ll take it off, if the response is good I’ll leave it and continue to write more.

Well I can confirm that I’ve only received positive feedback from all books and articles I’ve written. And if I can do it, so can you. I write in the exact same manner as I would speak to you if I were to speak to you in person. I’m certainly not grammatically correct in most of my sentences and I’m well known for my aussie slang.

But this is what gives your books and articles personality! Not just the same ol’ mundane thing you get from most books filled with formality after formality. Add some humour into your book (that’s always a crowd pleaser), you don’t want your audience falling asleep on you

Writing a book can take a lot less time then you actually think. A few of the book’s I’ve written in my time only took me a couple of days to write. I knew my subject well, and that will help a great deal in cutting down the time. If you need to research expect it to take a lot longer.

But everyone knows something that others will want to know. Ask yourself these questions…

What are you passionate about?
What have you personally experienced in life?
What subject do you hold a lot of knowledge about?
Once you figure that out you’re just about there!

Many people were blown away with how easily a small man could defeat a larger, stronger man. The world started to wonder where this “new” martial art had come from! What most people didn’t understand is it wasn’t that new of a martial art, it actually was invented in the early 1920s by Carlos Gracie.

In the 1920s a Japanese martial artists by the name of Esai Maeda migrated to Brazil and taught Carlos Gracie a martial art known as Jiu-jitsu which translates into the gentle art. Carlos in return, taught his four younger brothers the art and they opened their first school in 1925. Helio Gracie, who is the youngest of all the Gracies only weighed 135lbs and had trouble using the techniques on bigger opponents. He then figured out a way to fine tune the techniques and use leverage instead of strength. Ultimately Helio altered so many of the techniques that it became a martial art of its own which they now labeled Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.

What makes BJJ so effective is the fact that even the smallest man or women for that matter can effectively defend themselves from a larger, more aggressive assailant. BJJ is a ground oriented martial arts meaning the objective of the art is to take an attacker to the ground and apply either a choke or a joint manipulation. The belief behind this is that most attackers will be like a fish out of water when taken to the ground. The true effectiveness of the art is the fact that you use your opponents own strength and aggression against them. Unlike other martial arts, students partake in live training or sparring at the end of each class which helps equip them for real life situations. The fact that every class is made to feel like a real life scenario is truly what makes BJJ the single most effective martial art for self defense. It may not be as pretty as some other martial arts but it certainly is more effective.
