Spring Horse Racing Carnival
At Australia, we appreciate our horse racing & we thought we’d uncover Aussie’s greatest or possibly largest renowned event, Its’ Melbourne Spring Festival. Rest back & savour as we lead people through Victoria’s largest race in Australia, demonstrating Aussie stars of Victoria’s Turf and of course the breeders with riders in the center of this eye-opening industry. This is the finest time for punters to grab their money’s worth. With so many TAB and online sports betting websites in Australia, punters can easily place their bets.
Once we get over Derby Day and by god it is a massive race, we prepare ourselves for the day that stops a nation, The Melbourne Cup. Ever since the origin of the race, the stories of Archer being walked down from Sydney to contest the Trophy & who won the first two runnings of it to boot, Australians have been engrossed. Victorian’s even have a bank holiday to party!
The love affair which was Makybe Diva and the Aussie population was something to be admired. Makybe was why people continued going to the track. To win three Melbourne Cups in progression is something else that we presumably will not ever see again. What about the surprised Australians got when Dermot Weld came out and took the Cup back to Ireland back in ‘93 with Vintage Crop. Or feasibly when he did it again in ‘02 with Media Puzzle. What about Sheila Laxon winning with Ethereal, or maybe the renowned Might And Power and Doriemus photo ending. The rain came down in ‘74 and Van Der Hum took it home.
And then maybe there was Bart. JB Cummings. The Cup’s King. The man who has trained the Melbourne Cup victor a lazy 11 times. With horses such as Light Fingers, Galilee, Think Big (twice), Hyperno, Let’s Elope and Saintly conquering for him in the past. In 2008 punters & bookies alike were praying Viewed could do it for the Cup Kings & accomplish that dull 11 a decent dozen over the covering & who would have though the soon to be 80 year old would really complete it. Well completed Bart, you are absolutely the king of the Turf.
We will also not forget the hot water Luca Cumani and second spot victor Bauer landed in after it was apparent the horse gotten shockwave therapeutics, prohibited in a period of 7 days of the Melbourne Cup. The uproar was phenomenal, especially after it was discovered an RVL delegated vet supervised the therapeutics.
